Why is photos app still syncing every single photo in onedrive?

I made a thread in windows 10 mobile and got zero responses so here I am. When I go into setting in the photos app, either Windows 10 or Windows 10 mobile, and select "Show my cloud only content from OneDrive" and then select "Pictures folder only", it is still showing every single photo in my OneDrive. I sync a lot of assets from building websites in OneDrive so it syncs thousands of pictures that I do not want to see. Am I doing something wrong or is this happening for everyone?

Make sure the folder type of your other folders is not set to "Pictures". (Via the OneDrive web site.) You go into the folder click the i in a circle in the upper right corner and then in the middle is a "Folder type" with an option to change it. (Most of my folders seem to have defaulted to a type of "Pictures".)

I don't know if that will help, but it is worth a try.

Thanks that actually helped a lot. Still some of the pngs from folders still showed up after so I ended up moving them to my creative cloud drive. Would be nice if nothing outside of the pictures folder would show up. But thanks a ton for the help.
