Why is there nothing in my start menu

I've recently just been able to get my start button and task bar working after installing windows 10 by following these instructions:

"Press Windows Key + R on your keyboard.
Key in PowerShell and hit Enter.
Right click on the PowerShell icon on the taskbar and select Run as Administrator.
Now paste the following command in the Administrator: Windows PowerShell window and press Enter key:
Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}
NOW for the important part ! Locate to : C:/Users/name/AppData/Local/ and delete the TileDataLayer folder."

However, now when I open the start menu there are no programs there, or tiles, just a lot of blank space with my user icon and name, file explorer, power and all apps.

What do you expect when you delete the TileDataLayer folder!!!

These were instructions i got from another website to resolve my first problem, is there any way i can get the start menu items back?

Always create a restore point before doing stuff like that... Not sure what can be done now... You can try running sfc /scannow in elevated command prompt.

I tried running sfc /scannow and everything was fine, I tried numerous things but now i have decided to revert back to windows 7

Can you click on the notifications and get to settings from there?

Yes I could however there was one time when the task bar stopped working again so i had to repeat the instructions stated in the original post

If you can get into settings you have some options to reset your pc...
