Why is wifi not working since I uploaded windows 8.1 ?

Since uploading windows 8.1 on my HTC 8x phone two days ago I can no longer connect to my previous wifi connections or any others for that matter and phone seems to struggle finding and staying secure with any wifi ? It's driving me mad ! Please help !

Probably there was a glitch during the OTA update which resulted in this.
(Most times an update goes without problems but sometimes not.)

If a soft reset and deleting the known networks and reconnect them does not work I would recommend a factory reset.
But be sure that you have a backup before you do the factory reset because it will delete all the data on your phone.
