Why isn't my dvd drive working?

dvd drive not working

We cannot load any programs or play music on our computer using dvd drive

Open dvd tray and GENTLY clean the lens with alcool and a cotton floc.
Then clean disks with a clean cotton moving from centre to edge. Never clean a disk circularly!

Additionally,

does the dvd drive show that there's a dvd in it when you check in my computer?
