Why isn't my keyboard showing on the band?

Keyboard not showing

Hey, I got my Microsoft band on the day of release in the uk. I have a Nokia Lumia 930 and cant seem to get the keyboard to show on the band. Is this an issue in the UK? I have reset the band a few times already and still not working?

Any ideas?

you need to setup and use cortana first. then the keyboard will show up.

Will Cortana get set up on a Galaxy Grand Prime, my uncle (who got my band for me) said that is something only Microsoft, and iPhone have a lock on. Also when I reset my band and even tried downloading the Cortana app nothing happened. So I guess what I'm trying to ask is do I need a Windows Phone for full functions???
