I have a lumia 530, and i woke up this morning and noticed that the phone isnt making any sound... then i tried to play a song, but it wont start to play it says error 80004005 and i cant hear the ringing of an incoming call, i checked ringtone settings, all was good... but still my phone isnt making any sound or playing any song, not even with earphones... why is this happening and what's the solution?

I am getting this problem. I am unable to heat ringtone and music. After seeing the problem, I just did the phone reset. But it did not work.

I just bought the phone a few days back. Please show the way

If the obvious things aren't working, try using the Windows Phone Recovery Tool.

If that don't work, I would strongly recommend either exchanging the phone for another 530 at the store or getting it repaired by MS Mobile on warranty. There's a likelihood you received a bad unit.

If so, don't feel too bad, it happens.

I have the same problem.
I think it started sometime after the latest updates.
Suddenly my morning alarm didn't go off.
I can still get sound through headphones or bluetooth.
I even did a factory reset, but that didn't change anything.
There seems to be alot of sound issues with windows 8.1 ( do a google search).
Starting to get furious :unhappy:

maybe your speaker died, i'd try to get it serviced. under warranty if you can.

there aren't an abnormal amount of sound issues, its just that when you look for a problem, it appears to be a lot. (since nobody really comes here to post that their phone is working well)
