Why isn't Office 2016 uploading to OneDrive?

Office 2016 not uploading to OneDrive

Since updating to Office 365 2016, several files (over 800) say upload failed to OneDrive. How can this be fixed without going into each file individually??

similar problem here. this is highly disruptive to my workflow.
