Why my phone is unable to start?

I have been using lumia 630 since july 2014. today's evening when I tried to unlock the screen the phone stopped responding, nothing is working and the phone is now left as dead, please help.

Good suggestion. Make sure the battery is not depleted too. After you put back the batter plug in the power cable, wait for 15 minutes.

Hold the power button and volume down together until the phone vibrates. This may take some time.

Why waiting 15 minutes?
You can just try to reset like mentioned, if nothing works go to Nokia shop
