Why will Skype not detect my webcam? It has permission in my settings...

I am trying to video call with Skype but the program won't detect my webcam (built into my laptop). It won't even let me play with video settings because it doesn't think I have a webcam. I've gone into my privacy settings and into "camera", and Get Skype is there, already with permission. I then tried Facebook Video calling and I still get audio with no video. What else can i do? It seems to be a system issue not a Skype or Facebook issue but I don't know how else to fix it!

Hi and welcome to WindowsCentral.

What laptop do you have, and what version of Windows is it running?

Have you checked the website of your laptop manufacturer to see if there are any new drivers for the webcam?
