Why won't my 950 turn back on?

[Windows Central Question]

I was messaging on my 950, it made a continuous high pitched noise, froze and turned off... Now will not turn back on. Just vibrates when the power button is pressed or power plugged in..
Have taken battery out, now have SIM card in old 1020.

Phone is less than a week old.

Have you tried a soft reset and failing that a hard reset?
