Why won't my band stay connected to my phone?

Just got a new microsoft band and it won't stay connected to my windows phone, even though it's paired.

you need to provide more info as we are not mind readers. Band 1 or 2? Windows phone 8, 8.1 or 10? What model Windows Phone? are both the band and phone up to date?
