Why won't my Lumia 521 turn on??

My Lumia keeps vibrating in short bursts and won't show anything on the screen. I've tried to tape paper to the back case to press down on the battery, tried to hold the power and volume down keys for a few seconds but it only vibrates as if it were going to turn on but won't show anything on the screen. this has been going on for 3 days. I also know the battery was fully charged right before it started acting up

Had same problems but cured it by placing a small piece of card/paper in right side of battery
