Nokia 1020 won't show up on computer

Hey guys, I've tried literally everything. Multiple USBs and computers. Installing connectivity driver. Restart my phone and computers. When plugged in, the phone will only charge. There is no indication on the computer that a device has been connected (I checked Device Manager and it's nowhere to be found, not even under hidden items). When I plug it into my computer, it's the same as plugging it into a wall outlet. I've read tons of solutions online and tried them all. It makes me think that something has gone wrong with my phone. The issue isn't my computer's USB ports or even the USBs I've tried. It sounds like an issue with my phone. When I first purchased the phone, it was able to sync to the computer and I could transfer pictures from it. Could it be an issue with Cyan? I have lost complete functionality via USB connection and have spent countless hours trying to figure out what's wrong with my phone. :crying:

You already did a lot of cross checks which rules out computer, usb cables etc.
So the only options you have left to figure it out are a factory reset and or wait till you get DENIM.
And if both don't solve it it's your phones (usb) hardware.

Re: Nokia 1020 won't show up on computer

This is my second 1020 to be faulty now. The first one bricked itself (it had an actual BSoD that wasn't fixable according to Microsoft). Now it looks like the USB port on my phone no longer allows for data transfer and recognition on computers. I guess I can wait for Denim, which who knows when will be out for the 1020 on AT&T in the US. If that doesn't work, I'm done with Nokia phones...

I have been facing the exact same problem with my Lumia 620 ever since i updated my phone to cyan in Oct 2014. You can refer to my post for further details. http://forums.windowscentral.com/no...ow-do-i-connect-my-nokia-lumia-620-my-pc.html

Raviraj, I just read your thread -- we do have the same problem indeed! I tried all the solutions you tried as well. No matter what we do, our phones cannot be displayed on the computer (not even in Device Manager). There are no Nokia Care stores anywhere near where I live, so my best bet will try to go to a Microsoft store (where I purchased the phone) and see what they will do. I am starting to think it's due to faulty hardware/USB port no longer functioning properly (only allowing it to charge and not be recognized/allow data transfer). It's a real bummer. I wanted to developer unlock my phone so that I could sideload the Pebble Notifications app; but it seems that I have no hope of doing such.
