Why wont my wifi connect after Windows 10 upgrade?

Since I updated to windows 10 I cannot get my laptop to connect to the wireless network. The network shows up as available but when I hit connect it says "cannot connect to this network". When I run the troubleshooter it give me the error 'problems with wireless adapter or access point - not fixed'.

If you have another computer, go to your laptop manufacturer's website and download the appropriate wireless drivers for your device. If there aren't any Windows 10 drivers, just get the W8 / W7 drivers instead.
