Why would a Samsung laptop be taking more than 12 hours to download free windows 10 upgrade ?

I reserved the free download ( Windows 8 to Window 10) and proceeded to initiate the download when prompted by a new message at the bottom of the screen saying it was ready. Have made several attempts but all I get is a continuing message that it is downloading in background. latest attempt has been running for almost 15 hours

I have yet to start this process on the laptop ( Windows 7 to Windows 10) I amusing to send this question and am presently wary to do so.

Type "check updates" inside the start menu and go to check for window updates. You will see the percentage downloaded. Thats how i checked on windows 7

In addition to checking the progress or % of the download, you may also want to check your bandwidth/download speed. I suspect that your internet connection speed is the limiting factor in your case.

Relax. It was a week after it said Windows 10 is downloading that Windows 10 actually started downloading for. It will eventually download.
