Wi-Fi overrides mobile data connection in 8.1?

i want to know whether Wi-Fi overrides mobile data connection in 8.1. which one is in use when both are turned on?

There is a setting under cellular that "for limited wifi connectivity" that will allow you not to use cellular data. I think it appeared in GDR3

Yes.

Settings > cellular+SIM > For limited Wi-Fi connectivity: don't use cellular data

You can turn your cellular data off here too.

unable to find that settings. i am using WP 8.1 DP

i was completely unaware of the fact disclosed above. i never knew that wi-fi is by dafault preferred.
this means, even if my data settings are enabled, if i am connected to wi-fi, my data won't be used.
cool man. i feel now so less worried. bcoz my data pack is quite limited (600 MB in 3G), as i use unlimited wi-fi broadband at my office and home.

Me too. Just change "use cellular data" to "don't use cellular data."

Interesting. I'm running WP 8.1 as well. I'm wondering if it is a regional or carrier thing. I'm on Verizon in the US. It looks like for you, you have to actually turn off the data.
