WIFI x 3G

Hi there, Im new on Windows Phone, i had a Galaxy 5 (android 2.2.2.)...

The question is, when i have 3G on, and WIFI, does the phone use WIFI instead of 3g?

It seems obvious too me but, on android, whenever wifi was connected, the 3g icon disappeared, showing me that it was using wifi instead of the more battery hunger funciontion (3g)...

WP shows up both icons, 3g and Wifi all the time, even when i know for sure that im connected to a network.

Can someone clear this one out for me?
