Windows Central Question

I am looking to buy this phone here in the U.S. but I need it to work in Europe... would it?

Of course it can work... as long it's unlocked.

The problem of that phone is the lack of official updates, IMHO a better choice would be the L520 or the L635 both quite cheap and with constant updates.

And I guess there is also WCDMA and GSM thing. As far as I know Europe uses GSM. Correct me if I am wrong. So as long as it is GSM phone and unlocked it will work.

Yes, if the phone it's unlocked and GSM compatible, will work with any carrier in Europe.

It'll work as they've said above.
the question is how well will it work?

Does it support the bands for 3G on your carrier of choice? etc.

Although I highly recommend a Lumia 520 at the very least considering Huawei has washed their hands of the W1. (and probably W2 as well.)

I think Pacus must have looked up the spec.

It's got all the GSM for World (quad band)
It has a dual band UMTS for Europe that will work and a quad band UMTS for the Americas.

It is only HSPA 21.1 (so half-speed H+)

I concur it will work in Europe as Pactus1x states.

I also concur with xandros9 that the OP could probably spend his money much more wisely.
