Will Bing slowly die off?

Now the MS has completed the rebrand of Bing to MSN and most of the services have moved over, what is the ultimate future of Bing? Obviously in the short term it will remain as a search engine and power backend services but interestingly enough I went on the site today and all of its features were still available. News, images, video, ect are still all accesible through the Bing site.

What is the relationship and overlap now between MSN and Bing and will we contiue to see Bing as an independent site that works alongside of the MSN portal?

I don't think Bing will be deprecated as MSN is being pushed back into the limelight. Although I think Bing is a better brand than MSN, they are a search engine, so having content apps on your phone that are Bing branded really didn't make a ton of sense. I think Microsoft will continue to have Bing be the search technology, both in web search as well as the services that are powered by Bing.

That never seemed to stop Google. I'm as much a Microsoft ****** as the next guy on here, but I hate that MSN is being revived...it's just going to dilute/confuse the Microsoft brand all over again...

I agree with what you are saying. They should at least not have MSN and Bing services be overlapping. Right now you can still get access to Bing News even though this was supposedly consolidated into MSN.
