Considering how illegal this is in most states, and Microsoft being a US-centric company, I'd imagine this being at the bottom of the priority list. Not to mention, I'm almost 100% sure the carriers would veto it's availability on their devices. Too much legal liability.

I think other platforms have applications which could be illegal in some states/countries.

Other platforms, from what I know, don't have this feature built in. Also, please correct me if I'm wrong, but don't you need a jail broken or rooted phone to do so on other platforms?

Call recorder is an illegal app, that's why Microsoft is not interested in it, I like it. The call recorder available in WP store is just a recording app. Recording call without a beep to acknowledge the other side that you are recording voice is punishable in maximum country

And like I said, don't you need to root or jail break other platforms to use these apps effectively?

Will VOICE recorder ever be available for WP??
I don't need a call recorder, but i would love to have a native voice recorder application built in in my Lumia, like good old Nokia phones which use to run on s40,s60 and Symbian OS. Sometimes i feel we are going backwards..

Native voice recorder in not here but voice recording apps are there in store which works very well!

Can you suggest any good voice recording apps which saves files locally(not on cloud).
