I'm puzzled by methods that require a jacket for the charging. What's the point?
The AT&T 1520 needs a jacket for its standard. There have been several Lumias that needed a jacket for Qi charging.
My wife's Note 2 is getting a special coil pack that plugs in beneath the back cover so it can get Qi charging... That's a bit better.
Is it to cut cost on the device? Is it to pump up accessory sales? Both?
I'm spoiled from having webOS phones (Pre 2 and Veer) that just charged wirelessly when plonked down on a touchstone. I'm happy to have that convenience again. I never would have bought the jacket to charge my 925 wirelessly. I think it looks stupid walking around with that on like it's a case. It's not a case, it doesn't cover enough, IMHO. I've seen pictures of them and they look... "douchy" if you can understand that. (Just my opinion mind you, my personal aesthetic.) And I certainly never would have put the jacket on, taken it off, put it on, taken it off, put it on...
It's one thing to promote a standard; it's quite another to go in half-a$$ed and cripple it.
Long story short, OP - No. No "true" wireless charging for AT&T 1520. They never put the charging coil in. You could try a DIY, but AT&T ain't gonna come to your house and make it correct for you.
