Will Verizon be getting a new Windows Phone for 2015?

My upgrade is this month. I currently have a Lumia 928 and need a great camera phone as well as wireless charging.

I noticed the Lumi Icon isn't being offered anymore.

Any info will be appreciated!

There was rumor of them getting the 735, but that's up in the air.

The Icon would be the obvious choice, but stock is iffy.

We don't really know much more than that.

I'm sure that they will have at least one new Windows phone in 2015, the question is really when? My guys would be mid year. The HTC M8 is a very good phone and the one that I currently use.

My contract is up in May. I've got a huge decision to make, whether to run away from Verizon while I can or stick with them...

I hope they announce it soon. I'd be happy with the Icon, but I'll be pretty sad if they come out with another one later in the year.

Also, I'm not sure I want to wait too long since my upgrade is also in January..

We won't be seeing any new high-end devices released in the next few months. At least that is what all credible sources are saying, and the lack of leaks also suggests the same.

Maybe do what Thurrott did and go 'off contract', combined with a cheaper monthly plan?

It's definitely what I would do if I were in the U.S. ... and the price for an unlocked L930 looks pretty good to me right now.

Can't you still get the Icon through the Microsoft Store? Or are you not able to use your upgrade going that route?

I'm hoping that with Windows 10, Microsoft can do something like the other majors OEMs have and release one flagship to all carriers. That being said, if I were a betting man, I wouldn't put money on Verizon delivering anything good for us...

Well this article says that the L930 replacement may be in July...so it could be a while before we see any thing.

I heard Verizon rep said they are waiting for MS to send them more phones. In other words, blaming MS for the lack of Lumias they have for sale.

They haven't stopped selling Windows Phone (yet?) but aren't selling any Lumias until they get more in stock
