Win10 tp question

Hello,I have a pirated version of windows 8.1 to begin with. I became and insider and I'm sending feedback a lot! Will all Windows 10 insiders get Windows 10 for free, even if their previous Windows was pirated?

I'm actually not clear on that either.

I know for sure that Windows Update will let you upgrade, but I don't know if it'll become genuine or not...

EDIT: I've heard good things about /r/MicrosoftSoftwareSwap, but its at your own risk.

Do yourself a big favour and buy a licence before you upgrade to Windows 10, it's really not that expensive.

It's great that you're sending in feedback, but you can really support Microsoft by being legal.​

I've bought Windows xp and 7 in the past, but after my PC broke I bought a new own and spent money,I couldn't afford buying Windows 8 that's why I downloaded from the web, it's not like I'm happy with what I did, but I've being supporting Microsoft for lot of years!

Technically, If you own a license for 7, it will be upgradeable to 10 for free... Just not sure if you will need to have 7 installed and running in order to get the upgrade.
