Win8.1 Universal Apps - The key to Windows Phone success?

So, it would seem to me that Windows 8.1 most likely has a greater market share at this point than Windows Phone. (Just guessing based on the data I've seen).

It seems that lately there have been a slew of new apps that are "universal" apps being released for both Win8.1/WP8.1 - if this trend continues it would make sense that the perceived app gap could shrink considerably. With the introduction of "Windows 10"

My hope is that MS is making a transition from a Win8.1 universal app to Win10 very simple - hopefully less than a few lines of code.

Thoughts?
 
Its a long time (in smartphone time) before Win 10 will be released let along pushed out to the public. They have to develop 8.1 during that time or absorbed the wrath of WP users.
 
Simple key to wp success is people should choose something different from crowd.They should try what is windows phone first.They should drop this attitude of apps can cook anything for you.
