Windows 10 Mobile build 15254.1 Discussion (Fast Ring)

There are only cumulative updates to 15254 on Buildfeed, nothing with a higher number than 15254.

Heathcliff is the "best" hacker in the Windows Phone/Mobile world and he says the Insider program has ended.

I think that's enough proof to say it's only cumulative updates from here on out

You are right. There was obviously a new Fast ring build (though it was not announced anywhere) based on @tomi1982 and that picture. My X3 is still on production and that build number (after the latest update today) is 15254.124 versus 15254.16 from latest Fast ring.

I think there are maybe some server issues while shutting down the Insider program for mobile?
.16 is the newer build (in terms of compiling date) while .124 has the higher number.
Only MS knows what's happening...

My question now becomes: is it really worth switching my X3 to the Fast ring just to get this tiny update?

I had stopped Insider builds after .12 but got the .124 update last night on my x3.

Yes, because .124 is for production, .16 is for Insider rings. It seems that .124 is actually ".12.4" and therefore somewhat older than .16

Hi,
Did anybody actually install build .124 and then switch to fast ring and install .16?

This is the only way we can be sure .124 is old than .16

I am wondering what the difference is between the two. It's probably negligible really.

Looking at the builds of 15254 on Buildfeed it is now certain that the "lower" sub builds are for production users while the higher sub builds are on a different feature2 branch.
What's the reason for the Insider program if you only test cumulative updates?

Would this reasoning from MS be their way of quietly removing mobile from the Insider program, like WalkingCat said?

I don't think there will be any changes. Just security patches and bug fixes.

According to ONMSFT, the Windows 10 SDK no longer mentions mobile now. I guess we just have to wait for the official announcement that mobiles are no longer in the Insider program that MS will not announce.
