Windows 10 Mobile Insider Build 10586 Thread

On a 920 and still don't have the ability to launch the camera with the physical button. I am required to start the camera app to use the camera. Very frustrating.

How's the glance screen?,can we select random images as glance background like the Glance Background Beta app allowed us to assign and customize images.

I download this build on my lumia 640 XL. This is awesome build till now. To download this build now i can say that microsoft is moving in right direction & they are doing something unique. Awesome build. Guys must download this build without any thread. Believe me.

Is it usable, am thinking of getting this one for my daily phone. Is ut downloading staff as 8.1 do, fast and responsive.

My Lumia 730 is not connecting to my pc on this build 10586 and its says Windows Don't recognized this devices on my laptop. In my desktop its says it Driver coudn't install. My laptop running Windows 8.1 and My desktop runninjg Windows 7.
Same problem here on my 1520 with that build. It keeps connecting/disconnecting all the time when plugin in it to my PC with Windows 10. A connection is established for a second or two or sometimes even 5 (so I can access its storage), then it disconnects and keeps on looping this behaviour.

This build is draining the battery a lot faster. Battery life was almost 40% better in the previous build. It goes from 50 to 10 in hardly an hour. Anyone else facing this issue? Hard-reset didn't seem to help, at all.

Does the Outlook Calendar not have a live tile that shows the actual date? My tile is just the Outlook Calendar icon...kind of ridiculous if that is the case.

Mine was doing the same thing and re-pinning it didn't help. But then I put in a test appointment on my calendar and exited. The live tile then updated showing the appt and date. I went back and deleted the appt and now the live tile shows the date. Some weird bug I guess - just needed a little prodding to get it going.

What does the second update address. Both my 830 and 930 had a fast ring configuration update sine installing 10586

I've tried to remove the Insider Hub and it looks as though it was successfully removed - that is until I restart the phone, then it's back. Anyone successfully removed it and had it stay that way after restart?

Have you read the official release notes on this build? This is a known bug and gabe said there is no way to remove it from the Apps List, or to get the Insider App working.

uninstall all lumia / nokia device in devices list on pc, so it can install fresh usb and lumia drivers

I am willing to bet that most experiencing batter drain issues have apps that are still updating, but they do not check.

Running the 10586 build on Lumia 620. Upgraded from 10851 and have not done a hard reset.

Here are my observations:
1. Build seems to be quite stable and fast, almost like w8.1. Loading time for apps and screen transitions are less.
2. I am not able to change my lockscreen pic!! For some reason it always defaults to the sample pic of a ferris wheel. Let me know if there is a way to fix this.
3. Groove music still acts funny, does not play some of the songs. The error message is 0x00d11cd(0x80070057).
4. Battery drains much faster than 10581.
5. Camera lags.
6. Skype video displays green screen where there should be the front cam picture(Real time video).

Nope. It has been more than 24 hours now. Can see all of them on my outlook though.

Did you know that you may backup contacts, SMS and MMS by exporting them to SD card in "Transfer my Data", and you may then import them again after restore/reset? L( o) ( o)K:

Now isn't that simpler! I always do this for redundancy.

Updated yesterday. Because I - as most of the insiders I guess - did a hard reset after the update to build 10581, I had to revert to 8.1 using the recovery tool. The update to 10586 went not as smooth as previous updates: the installation process got stuck at step 20 or 22 of the 'migrating data' process. After rebooting my phone it started without an incident. I did a hard reset, did not restore a backup and started adjusting all settings.

So far, on my Lumia 735 the battery drain is less then before, but it may take a few days before I can judge that more accurately. Motion data now updates (wasn't doing that before), performance is good, definitely a RTM candidate in my book.

Also nice that storage sense or what's it called works again, because I always delete standard build in apps that have no use to me like 'rate us' and 'nokia account'. Prevents some errors in the store also.

Updated from 10581 to 10586 on my Lumia 930. I never did a hard reset on 10581. The 10586 update took a long time (longer than previous builds) to download and install. The reboot took a while too but went without problems. So far so good. Battery life could be a bit suspect...seemingly shorter than 10581 but it will take a couple of days to determine that. Apps that I normally use work fine. I hope Microsoft continue to move in the right direction with each build release.

Which of these would give better result:

1. 10581 to 10586
2. 10581 to 8.1 and then 10586
3. 10581 to 8.1, then 10586 and then Hard Reset

Plz suggest.

I went from 10581 to 10586... expected the endless startup loop I got, then did a Hard Reset, and everything was good.

Of the above options though, I'd go with option 3.
