Windows 10 Mobile on Lumia 640

I was thinking of picking up one of these phones. Is Windows 10 available to download for this phone yet? Or is it only a technical preview.

I just installed it through the Windows Insider Program / app, and it seems to be working like a champ. No issues at all so far (only been 2 days though).

I didn't expect to like it - but I do.

I got the latest build on my 640. Some minor issues for me; no real deal-breakers.

Yes, anyone can join. Just download the Insider Preview app. Sign up for the fast ring if you want the latest version (you do!).



I'm not sure how we'll get the final version. If it's newer, it may show up automatically. But if it's the same as the latest preview version when it comes out, there wouldn't really be any need, since we'll already have it anyway.



Once it's officially released, you could always hard reset your phone to get it.

One further question. Although the display isn't quite 1080p, would the phone be able to play 1080p video ok?

dont know if it can play 1080, but you wont see any improvemnts to 720 videos...

It can definitely play 1080p videos, but it won't be any prettier.
