How has your PC faired performance wise with Windows 10 than your previous Windows versions? Provide your experiences and specs (PC)

Similar or slightly bettery than W8.1 on my extremely inefficient PC!
The specs, that need a small power plant for powering them, are as shown below:

AMD phenom II x4 965 (still going strong)
2x2gb DDR3 1333Mhz (I know is low by today's standards but still OK)
ATI HD6870 (which won't get DX12. Also is extremely inefficient and works perfectly well as a heater for the room)
All the above on a gigabyte GA-770TA-UD3 motherboard (it is a big motherboard, nothing more)
Samsung's 80GB 7200rpm SATA HDD (the route of all evil and slowdowns, probably pretty fast in 2005)
Secondary HDD seagate baracuda 250GB, 7200rpm SATA 2 (I know, I know, this should be my primary HDD, but couldn't change that due for 100+1 reasons)
400W corsair power suply (which barely provides the power needed, poor thing)
And also, a 20 euros case!

To tell you the truth, I gave 150 euros to build this system in the summer of 2014 with some parts from friends (graphic card, PSU) and I simply don't care having more performance on my PC, the only thing I plan changing by the end of the year, is the primary HDD and planning on some SSD in order to make windows 10 fly with the speed it diserve :)

Don't get me wrong, being able to play FIFA 16 demo (finally a great fifa!) slightly below 60fps and still maintaining the full graphics (on a 1680x1050 monitor) for just 150 euros is mind blowing in my opinion! :P

This is all I can say: super fast and smooth.

My specifications
Intel? Core™ i7-4770HQ
Nvidia GeForce GTX 850M
8GB RAM
1TB storage

Startup is fast. Shutdown sometimes take unusually long time (>1 min, with no Windows Updates).

As smooth as Windows 8.1. Sometimes the screen freezes (happens about every two days). Typing in Microsoft Word & Edge is sometimes quite slow.

I am using Surface Pro 3.

Have no problems on mine.
Intel I7-3770K
Gigabyte Z77X-UP5TH
Corsair Vengeance DDR3-1600 4x8GB for a total of 32GB
1 SSD and 1 HDD
Gigabyte 770GTX with 2GB feeding video by way of display port to a LG UltraWide 29 inch monitor

Performance is identical with Windows 8.1. Ram management is a bit weird, the System process using more ram than in previous versions of Windows, but I've read that is a feature for improved performance. So there's that.

AMD 280X @1080/1750
FX 6300 @4.5 GHz
8 GB DDR3 1333

I really need an SSD though.

I'm running latest insider build with new mem management I find it to be smooth, like 8.1. As drivers mature for graphics, some speed will happen.

I don't understand why everyone saying Windows 10 boot faster than 8.1/7. For me it's slower than any previous version. It's the same on my Laptop, my father and brothers PC. Restart and shutdown takes longer time too.
When playing games/movie or music, my pc freeze for 1-2 sec every 15-30min. It looks like windows is doing something on the background that eat all the resource.
All of it running on SSD.

I've downgrade my pc to Win 8.1 and it's running smooth again. I'm gonna wait until they fix it before trying it again.

Oh, by the way I'm not an insider.

It appears more like a hardware issue, try updating drivers and fresh install, it should never be slower than 7 also 8.1

When I go into downloads it says working for ages, never done that on 8.1, I did a clean install by the way

my problem with w10 is that I feel like there's too much going on behind my back, and I'm actively trying to keep it under control without compromising functionality, just watching that photos app start indexing my albums as soon as my pc enters idle state it goes 100% cpu and disk and in a split second it stops when you touch anything, just leaving an angry fan noise and 30% battery lost, you wont believe how infuriating that is, I have it disabled now but wow Microsoft... really that's how things are gonna be now?

edit: well I see specs lets show specs

my lappy is the one facing problems really, an HP envy M6 with 6gb ram and AMD APU 4600 quad+gpu+120gb evo 850

desk is just as as always but it bothers me when I see unwanted activity on my system monitors
2600k+z68+16gb ram+gtx 760+ 250gb evo 850

I've noticed a severe memory leak. System hogs all of my RAM and uses a lot of my CPU. I'm not the only person, though I haven't seen many people talk about it on the forums here, I wonder why.....

The tips are all from sources that I don't trust, so I haven't used any methods. If Windows Central did an article on it, I would go with their tips, but until then I'm stuck.

I'm very upset. I would like to downgrade to Win8.1 but I don't want to go back to those days. Win10 has spoiled me.

EDIT: sorry I'm using a Surface Pro 2. I just realized that my profile says it's the Pro 3, but it's not. It's the Pro 2 :)

Xeon X5670 x2 (12 cores)
24Gb
3x 850 Pro SSDs

No difference.

Surface Pro 3, i3

No difference.

Then again I don't install crap like iTunes or Chrome (I keep stuff like that in a VM as to not slow down my main OS)

I don't see why a home user would do this, if running critical work I could understand.

I am noticing 18 gb is used when virus scan and playing world of warships out of 32gb system i was like wow! Its not slowing system down.

The performance I have had since upgrading to Windows 10 is very poor. I have four Microsoft programmes running constantly, with the CPU at 100% and therefore slowing the whole system down. They are Microsoft Common Language Runtime Native Compiler (normal and 32 bit) + the Microsoft .NET Framework optimization service (normal and 32 bit ) this is a 64bit machine, how do I stop them running please?

I don't really want to install Adobe Creative Suite, configure Dreamweaver for aspx database use along with Videostudio more than once especially seeing as I can then move the VM to another machine and still have all the software available to me. iTunes is also there to grab music as is the Amazon application. I don't use Chrome.

Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 boot in a fraction of the time it takes for Windows 10 to boot. That's just me though.
