Windows 10 S = windows 10 mobile on desktop?

I think it's a hint of things to come, but it is not close to Windows 10 Mobile. Neither is Windows on ARM, which is something else entirely. CShell will change that, but it's not here yet.

In concept? I suppose, but it's still Windows 10 under-the-hood, just without permissions to run legacy programs installed traditionally.

I actually think that W10S cannot use CMD. (Correct me if I'm mistaken)

Really the only similarity between W10S and W10M is the Store "lockdown". Except you are actually able to load apps not from the store on W10M.

To call them "equal" is essentially the same as calling W10Pro and W10M equal.

It's neither Windows 10 Mobile nor Windows RT. Daniel Rubino has explictly covered these issues before.

Windows 10 S is identical to any standard Windows 10 version, except with one switch flipped, to stop you or someone else from screwing up your system. In fact, this switch already existed way before W10S was announced, and can be found in every Windows 10 Settings. Essentially, you already had this very experience, but in reverse: You had Windows 10 and were able to make it Windows 10S with one switch.
