Yes I've done that. Just doesnt update.

Brightness control is bad for me too. Keeps changing.

Switch of automatic brightness setting and set the brightness manually to the level you want. Hope this helps.

I have done that. Ever since I got the phone two years ago I've never had auto brightness on. Thanks very much though.
