Windows 10 upgrade failure

"I have HP laptop bought in 2011 which meets all the requirements for Windows 10. But as per HP's website it is NOT TESTED for Windows 10 since it was MANUFACTURED BEFORE AUGUST 2013!

So, I Manually reserved a copy with an blank "Check your PC" section, which is not an issue as per Microsoft.

Today I downloaded the Windows 10 Home ISO since Windows 7 Home Basic was preinstalled on my laptop.

But during the first Installation/Boot it showed
"0xC1900101 - 0x2000A
The installation failed in the SAFE_OS phase with an error during PREPARE_FIRST_BOOT operation" & WENT BACK TO WINDOWS 7!

Please help me!

Re: Windows 10 upgrade failure

You can try to fix that problem by rename the Windows.old folder to any name you want, turn off the boot OS selection restore option and scan for updates again or load that ISO file one more time.

The Windows.old folder contains any previous Windows installation files, maybe that cause some conflicts.
