Windows Central Question

Windows 10 - Wireless adapter is up to date... but...

... in Control Panel cannot turn it on... Troubleshooter says "Wireless capacity is turned off".

WLAN Auto Config Service IS running.

The web sites that say to remove a Registry Key results in the Key NOT found and then trying to run its' companion command line utility results in not found.

Before updating to Windows 10, the Wi-Fi worked properly.

Latest Windows Driver IS installed.

Any ideas to help resolve this would be very helpful to get my Laptop Running so that I can use it Wirelessly instead of having to connect via Category 5 land line cable to the router.

Re: Windows 10 - Wireless adapter is up to date... but...

Fix to this issue was as follows:

1. Install the latest copy of the HP Assistant.

2. Reboot and go into BIOS Settings and reset to Factory Settings.

3. Let Windows install the latest HP Assistant drivers.

This resolved the issue for me... FINALLY!

:D

That's up to your manufacturer, they need to provide you with drivers that are compatible with Windows 10. Try downloading driver from your laptop manufacturer's website and run its setup in compatibility mode for previous version of Windows. That should help.
Note: Some drivers even then won't run correctly, that's why I rolled back to previous OS on my older laptop.
