Windows 8(8.1?) apps not displaying/functioning properly on Windows 10, help?

Certain apps (it's seemingly only those not made by Microsoft) are completely impossible to use as they don't display properly. The bottom of the apps are cut off and the mouse cursor is not aligned correctly (You have to click to the top right of everything)

I can find pretty much no information about this online apart from this previous question and a thread on a gaming forum:
