Windows 8 and GIF messaging

Are we still not able to send GIF's or receive them through text messaging???

Lumia 920 here. I can't receive gifs by text or even download and save one to photos. What's up with that?

yes they can. i was actually quite surprised/upset windows phone couldnt do this. hopefully there will be a fix for it soon

GIFs are what? 1998 technology, I'd much rather receive short video clips which is more common and is more universal in terms of support.

If they're going to support GIF, they'd also better add BMP, TIF, FLM, PCX, HAM16, HAM8, HAM24 and NEO in addition to other 1990s file formats as well!

tiffs are also widely used in business still. (scanning, electronic fax, etc).

And not all androids supports gifs but most do.

PDF reader opens them just fine as,does adobe.

Adobe did work fine on WP7, it's not available for WP8

PDF Reader does not work for non 8.5x11" paper or anything with layers (so any kind of drawing, plan, or technical document you might need to review in the field)
