It's funny that before Blackberry really fell off, Crackberry was huge. Now Windows Central is having its time. The little guys have numbers. :)

We do more front page traffic than Android Central or iMore, in many ways, they are riding off of us now. AC's forums are huge though, but that is the nature of Android: support and hacking.

What is the evidence of how our sister sites support us? What is the actual mechanism that you perceive as an unfair advantage over other sites?
I have to agree, just based upon the number of comments on the articles posted on WindowsCentral and on the sister sites. I've always seen a lot more comments on WindowsCentral than on the other sites.

Also, I noticed you just joined Windows Central today and this is your first post. Care to reveal which site you work for (I am assuming)? I notice you hail out of London. Surur from WMPU is from there too, do you know him?

lol, i am just a reader. i dont work for any site :straight:, though, i'd love to work for WC  and how do you know i am from london? and i don't now who "Surur" is either. sorry i you think i am trying to offend you. just wanted to share my two cents.

I like this website, however:
  • page loads are slow ... Often I wonder, did I click or did I not?
  • It looks like Dr. Evil is in charge of revenue - one meellion ads!
  • reading should not hurt

I can prove that the ads are actually the things slowing the website to a crawl, just enable the tracking protection lists in IE and like magic 90-95% of the ads are gone and the site loads much faster.

Yup, Wincentral is slowly becoming the last site I visit for Windows news. Winbeta, NPU, Wmpoweruser, Thurott in no particular order.

I have been visiting the site for months and noticed recently that you seem to really be ramping up the number of ads on the page.. Its getting to the point where the right hand 3rd of the page is swamped with adverts, articles have adverts between each making if difficult to identify news from ads, and now an incredibly annoying rising bar of adverts has appeared... WTF is going on, the pages feel laggy to load and navigate (i have an 80mb fibre link which works great for every other website, perhaps i need to upgrade my old i3 to an i7 to help process the adverts quicker!). Love all the articles, but please reduced the ads! Next we'll get a subscribe to remove ads banner full screen on entry.

No problems here either on Firefox or IE.
Windows Central is running fine and fast for me on desktop.
Very speedy lately...

Well, No problem in desktop or laptop however this website surely a pain for IE in WP.
Whenever I tried to open Windows Central website IE just crash.
Anyway we have WC app which is good to use. So no problem here.

And about the other websites. I am X-WMPU user.
But now for Microsoft news I only follow this WC.
This website covers all aspects which I want to know.
So I don't even think of using other MS websites.

EXACTLY how I feel. Love this site but, leaning towards to other sites in the morning to get my WP news. This site has crashed IE 5 times today on me because of the ads.

I know you have to pay the bills but, when do you draw the line on the aggressive ads ???
