windows mobile 7

just wondering if i get the TP2 will i be able to upgrade to windows mobile 7 when it comes out next year. im just thinking windows 7 sounds like its going to be t would suck if im stuck the the phone for 2 years and 7 comes out early next year. basically just wondering if i should wait or not worry about it

It is not likely as rumours say the WM7 will have specific platform requirements. However if it is at all possible the experts at XDA will certainly develop WM7 roms for it.

I wouldn't count on Windows (Mobile/Phone) 7 compatibility. Rumors have it that WinPhone 7 is going to require quite a few things the Touch Pro2 does not have:

1. Processor (needs a higher end processor)
2. Multi-touch (TP2 is resistive "single touch")
3. Compass
4. Micro USB (TP2 uses Mini USB)

I'd say one year from today, maybe, WinPhone 7 devices will be hitting the market. The question is, want to wait a year?

Maybe 3-6 months from now devices will come out that can be upgraded to WinPhone 7. Look for the capacitive screen (multi-touch), the compass, and the micro USB.

Doubtful....if you look at all other HTC phones, they usually release one or two updates per phone...so TP2 will get WM6.5 and that'll probably be the only major update it gets before it's obsolete.
