If you're concerned about T-Mobile's reluctance to push updates, just bypass them with the Developer Preview program. It costs nothing, and you'll get the update this week, no matter what WP8 device you have. WPCentral even gave us a how-to: http://www.windowscentral.com/how-sign-windows-phone-81-preview-developers

that is hilarious. But AT&T hasn't announced it yet. So, I understand this users confusion.
