I don't have an 8X, but each app that has a live tile generally has a setting option to turn it on/off. Also make sure that the background tasks for the app under applications in the system settings menu isn't turned off.

How did you get that picture for Facebook. Mine only shows the normal Facebook tile

That's my cover photo. It popped on there when I went to the "double wide" tile. From what I know it doesn't work with just the standard or small tile.
