I think a simple boot animation will really add up to the aesthetics of the OS. So I want to share my concept for the boot animation for windows phone. It is just a short and simple animation of the Windows Phone logo. It was inspired by the 3D flipping animation unique to Windows Phone, and was also based on the boot animation of the early wp7.5.

This is how the boot screen looks like:

And here is my concept video on how the boot animation looks like:

All comments are welcome. Let me know what you guys think :)

There is a reason why there is no animation:
- it could lagg because the phone loading then with full power
- you see the bootscreen very few times
- unneccessary battery drainer

But the concept looks nice. :)

A simple boot animation won't drain battery... It is shown very infrequently and it should be a simple video played back. (Tapping the Windows key for the home screen animation should take much more resources because it is being rendered on-the-spot and it is tapped all the time).

A 3-second long video playback of a simple boot animation probably won't hurt much . And the boot animation was once present in wp7.5, and I actually liked it.

Thanks, btw! :)

I wonder why they went with a static icon/text with win8+.

In Win7 and below the windows icon was an animated loop on bootup on windows machines after the entirety of the name was shown.
