Windows Phone Program Management: Microsoft: Upgrade Facebook App for Windows Phone 7.8

You've said something relieving but how sure are you?. I just hope you are right but fear for the worst because of Past experiences with Windows Phone and Microsoft. Just wish they'll come out with something official to stop us all from worrying.
They'll just upgrade current app, which works on WP7 atm aswell.
Current beta will be as update for stable version, when they'll get all sh*t together.

Unlike some people, I never really expected my phone to get updated to WP8. I'm actually fine with that. What I don't like is the way that MS handled the app situation. We're seeing a lot of WP8 only apps coming out now that could easily support WP7 but don't because MS made it a pain to to support both versions. It looks like the new Facebook app might be the same way.

Exactly, all aps coming out now are WP8 only....kinda sad cuz I'm just not ready to upgrade. Microsoft has really ****ed me up big time. My WP 7.8 is still new as heaven.

its time to face facts its time to upgrade to windows phone 8 ill be glad when the 928 is released on Verizon because im tired of the trophy and lack of support from both htc and Microsoft on 7.x

Exactly. I don't care if they don't update the OS, but the fact that we cant get into the new App store and there is little reason for Devs to make new apps for us.... is bull.

The titan2 and the lumia900 were released a little over a year ago, and this new app store was opened 6 months ago. I don't expect support forever, but that's ridiculous. I have never had a problem with my phones being "Too Old" this soon.... prior to this Titan 2.

I do understand this. Thing is, all signs point to that sort of situation not happening again. WP8 was entirely different than WP7 because of things like a kernel change (which won't happen again anytime soon).

Consider this: iOS devices get updates for a long time but the updates often leave features out that either won't run on the device or they choose to leave out to encourage you to buy a new device. Android is incredibly hit or miss when it comes to updates of any nature. WP is hardly unusual when it comes to update issues.

while true, but they still get all of the apps. They even get new apps.

WP is unusual, and I've been burnt every damn time by Microsoft all the way to PPC 2000. I've had every iteration.
