Hi

I can't win with cell phones right now, I got a locked lumia 1020 that I can't unlock(I tried 3rd party unlockers and rogers) till September then Rogers will unlock(hopefully). I want to get onto wind and was going to get the Huawei W1 so that when I transition over to lumia 1020 it should be pretty easy.

Now I find out that all the windows phone wind offer is gone, all I can get is display model for $20 off the htc one.

So now either I have to go with andriod(Alcatel One Touch M'POP or Huawei Ascend Y215 as I want to stay under $150 tab) or buy this display model or find a compatible phone.

Wind Canada uses the same frequency bands as T-Mobile USA, so an unlocked device with T-Mobile USA branding should work.

I'd aim for a Lumia 920 that's unlocked from Rogers, I've had the best luck with that phone on Wind. You could also try looking for a Lumia 928, but I'm not 100% sure on that one. Apparently it's GSM unlocked because it's Verizon, and it includes Wind bands. Assuming it works with Wind, it seems like the simplest solution with less hassle because you don't have to go through the annoying process of unlocking a US phone.
