Windows Update Fail

hi Guys.. trying to update my windows 8 laptop & keep getting the following error code.. " Windows Update error 0x80070003" ... Have gone to change pc settings and tried there as well ..

any clue on how to set up the update .. store does not show any update.. brand new laptop with windows activation done today..

You may want to manually download / install the 8.1 update. That may take care of the problem.

Go to the window store and search for Windows 8.1 if its not right on the first page when you go in.

...ok how would I understand that the update has succeeded..in the sense version number where can I see that

I would just restart the computer.
