Word and Excel do not connect to OneDrive; can you help me fix this?

Something is wrong with my Microsoft account log in on my phone. Word and Excel say i'm logged in, but i'm not connected to OneDrive; my 'recent' docs do not show up. I click 'sign out', so that I can try logging in again, but it doesn't sign me out. I 'reset' both apps, doesn't' work. When save a doc, it does not show up in OneDrive.
I just did a Full reset on my 950 XL, ran the 'regular', 'Release Preview' and now 'Slow' ring to test this; same problem.
Also: using my Microsoft credentials on others sites does not work on my phone; I can't log into this site (Windows Central), or Feedly, or other sites using my Microsoft username and password.
Everything used to work so well....
Oh - my OneNote does work/sync with my phone and all other devices...

Hi Darrel, I've got this same identical issue on my Lumia 950. Word and Excel mobile doesn't sync with OneDrive, while OneNote works fine.

Did you fixed it?

I'm glad i'm not alone with this problem! (but i'm sorry you are frustrated with this same silly problem!)
Wow - this is so stupid! I did two full phone re-sets during this past month, hoping it would fix this, but no, it didn't work. So...i tried uninstalling Word. What a mess!!! After i 'removed' it, it didn't actually go away. It still said it was installed (when i went to the store, it said it was still installed); so...i clicked on 'launch', and nothing happened. I went to my OneDrive, and tried to open a Word doc, and nothing happened. I went to 'apps' on my phone, to try to reset, and i got an error saying to 'try later'. Just for fun, i uninstalled Excel. No problem removing it; i went to the store, and reinstalled it and it worked. But...same problem as Word - no connection to OneDrive; no recent files etc.
So....i had to do a full reset again; i can't work without Word on my phone. Sadly, it still does not connect to OneDrive, nor does it show my recent files. I can't believe this. On my Galaxy S5, it works fine...

I also have a Lumia 650 where those apps works perfectly (same version of the app, of course).

With the Lumia 950, instead, it is impossible to select OneDrive as the default saving path...
My 950 is brand new, so this problem came since the first use.

By the way, opening folders within both apps, allows me to browse OneDrive files and open them. Annoying but functional.

You read my mind! I've too have a 650 i use as a back up phone; i dusted it off and updated all the apps etc, and yes - you are correct; Word works perfectly on this phone. I created a doc, and when i saved it, it gave me the option to save onto OneDrive. My 950 XL does not give me this option; i can only save to 'this device'. This is so strange. I'm not doing another reset on my 950 XL; i've done 3 now, yesterday i went all the way back to the start using the WDRT, and Word still doesn't connect to OneDrive. Frustrating!!

So I go to OneDrive and open a Word doc. Edit the doc; 'save' - I get the option to rename etc. It saves properly. I close Word and OneDrive. I then open Word 5 seconds later, and nothing shows up in the 'Recent' window. It just keeps spinning, saying it's 'downloading list of recent docs', but nothing ever shows up.

Plus - when I create a new doc on my phone, and try to save it, I don't have the option to save to OneDrive; only to my device...
My old 650 does not have this problem.
