WP 8.1 - Battery saver and background tasks

Hello,

I'm experiencing a weird issue since I updated to WP 8.1: I configured Battery Saver to be *always* turned on (as it was in WP 8.0) and a couple of apps are allowed to run *always* in background, even when Battery Saver is enabled.

Unfortunately it seems that those apps (e.g. Battery Performance) are no longer able to update their live tiles, unless my phone is charging. As soon as I detach it from the power source, it stops updating the live tile and Battery Performance no longer collects statistics about the battery usage.

Is that to be expected?

Most likely, the developer needs to update his app for the new WP8.1 APIs. It probably has not been updated yet, so it lacks this compatibility.
