WP 8.1 Call Blocking does not seem to work for UNKNOWN callers

Hey all,

I have been searching for something about this for a LONG time.

My wife and I BOTH have Lumia 1520's and are both on WP8.1.

We both have call+SMS filter ON and in the Advanced Settings we have Block Withheld Numbers turned On.

Despite this, we keep getting calls from an UNKNOWN caller almost every day. The caller calls my phone, hangs up and then calls my wife's phone. Anytime we pick up the call, we get hung up on. So blocking this would help a LOT!



As you can see, the calls are grey'd out and cannot be manipulated.

I have called AT&T, but their only suggestion is to change my number. For me, it's not a big deal, but for my wife, it would be and something that would take a lot of convincing to accomplish.

If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know!

Sadly, as far as I know there is no way for a phone to block unknown numbers, because it literally cannot discern one unknown number from others. You could have your carrier block blocked numbers altogether, but that's it.

This is odd as I cant even get into the settings. I keep getting the message

"cant access this right now...please try again or reset your phone" no matter what I do (even hard reset) I cant get to that setting.
