WP 8: make your screen as cluttered as iOS!

those windows phone team guys are very clever for coming up with quite a brilliant os. a lot of their stuffs are being copy by other os so let see where they'll take us. hope they let people customize where they can as they move forward.

How many tiles at once is non-cluttered for you?
Tiles are very visually impacting. They were previously offset by the gutter, but now they take up the whole screen. I don't see any solution with the current set up - all I can do is pray that Microsoft will throw me a bone - as the owner of two Windows Phones that have now been deemed legacy - and let me bring back the gutter.

Maybe it's the power user in me, or it's the fact that even on Android I tried stuffing everything on one screen. Even though I had 7 home screens, I didn't care I still only used 1. I think the removal of the gutter, and expanding the use of the entire screen was an amazing call by Microsoft. I just think it's up to the user, to use his/hers Start Screen how he/she wants... and this new customization of size, and more room allows us to do what we want in more detail.

Download one of the WP8 screen caps onto your phone and open it. It looks like crap until you actually have it on your phone. It's really not that bad at all.
If you really hate it, just have small icons on the right and leave a blank row.

The WP Start Screen looks nowhere near EXACTLY like the iPhone and Android app menus. And WP 7.8/8 icons aren't different sizes either, unless you want them to be.

The new Start Screen has zero bearing on the "app drawer". You can pin as much or as little as you want to the Start screen now, and you will be able to pin as much or as little as you want to the Start Screen in WP 7.8/8. If the "app drawer" wasn't there, how would you launch something not pinned to the Start Screen, in either UI version?
Yes, MS uses the metro UI unlike iOS and Android.

Kind of off-topic but is there any video of the Xbox Music app? I see it on screens everywhere but no one mentions hand ons.

I've taken a look at the albums view in the Pictures Hub, which I believe is essentially the same. It's nowhere near as nice as with the gutter. And don't tell me to use a crappy compromise when what I've got something I'm happy with already.

iOS screen is cluttered because it shows you absolutely nothing

Windows Phone 8 is like a news papper

It gives you updates on what's important in your life

That's a lot more important

Glance and Go you never have to walk into a pole again

iPhone and Droid users walk into poles

Windows Phone users don't

Thanks to Live Tiles :)

all of this...

It's really sad to see the new WP8 section full of complaints based on misinformation. I kinda like the idea for the start screen, that way I can resize my VEVO app whenever they show Justin bieber or resize those tiles that aren't live.

Love. Love. LOVE the home screen. Really looking forward to seeing what "New Group" will do and how I can organise all of the tools, social, media, games apps/hubs. :)
New Group? Can someone please educate me on this? I suppose I missed what it is somewhere :/

Props though for getting me to try searching for it and rediscovering the forgotten groups feature from Magno! What a nifty way to give myself a "favorite contacts" tile :D

Oh, and while I'm posting, I think I want my layout to look somewhat like this - looks pretty snazzy!:
