I am still using my crappy iPhone 4 anxiously awaiting the release of the Samsung Focus S for AT&T...but I am curious, does WP7 have a radio tuner (or HD radio tuner) like the Zune HD has? I have a Zune HD in case not, but i like to listen to the radio while I work out and it would be an awesome function. Thanks

Well hopefully AT&T will let me keep my unlimited plan after I switch off this worthless iphone. but maybe i'll just use my Zune HD for radio while i'm out...thanks for the info though

just curious, how much data does streaming music eat up per hr? I really like LastFM...but afraid to use it while I'm not connected to Wifi.

I actually used my FM radio for the first time at the drive-in. My car has a "feature" that it only allows power without the engine running for a limited time, so the audio of the movie kept getting interrupted. I whipped out my phone and played the audio on that through the speaker. Worked like a charm.

Done a wee experiment for you today, listened to Last FM for exactly an hour and it used 80 MB on 3G jake69. :) (According to 3's figures)

Yeah I end up using my phone to stream the local radio when the reception is bad (mostly NPR).... and yes I have unlimited data, I jumped onto the WP7 and smartphone train with verizon because they were about to get rid of the unlimited plan, now i've got it and I'll plug in my radio at work and listen to streaming radio from around the world all day.

(used about 3.5 gig's last month)

Your phone allowed "speaker phone" with the FM Radio? Mine needs the ear phones as the antenna...and I do not see a "use the speaker" option...

Or you had a portable speaker in your car?

Yeah love the hundreds of streaming radio channels availale, my favourite 2 radio apps are Radio Hub and TuneIn Radio.

Plenty of others to chose from too. Nice. :)

Quick question. Does the built in Radio "app" which requires you to have the headphones plugged in as an antennae, use data?

No that's FM, it's based on radio channels around you locally via transmitters.

Only the streaming apps use data len1023. :)

To jump on the 40 band wagon...me too! ;) As far as streaming radio goes, I stream at work almost daily. I can't attest to the amount per hour, but I usually end up between 2 and 3 GBs (closer to 2 than 3).
