WP7 Slow On Wifi?

I don't have any problems with WiFi on my HD7,even tho I don't have WiFi at home. Just immediately after using internet sharing I've noticed, a quick cycle of airplane mode on/off corrects it.

If the phone isn't plugged in, the wifi signal is dropped once the screen is shut off. If you have the phone plugged in, the wifi will continue to be connected.

Really? Yikes! Hopefully, there is a way to override that. Else, whenever I'm at home, but not actively using/charging my phone, I won't receive any Emails/updates.
