Windows Phone 9 to be available for all existing Windows Phone 8 devices, preview in January 2015 (Rumour)

Windows Phone 9, the mobile / laptop SKU of one Windows Threshold should be available for all existing Windows Phone 8 devices including Lumia 520, as far as of now. Though, not all features will come to all the devices!!

Some features like Split-screen multitasking, which will help users in making most out of their Windows Phone Phablets mayn’t be available for smaller screen devices. Though, its not very sure of the minimum display size criteria, but it may be 4.9 inch or higher.

Coming to when one can expect Windows Phone 9 to hit developer preview devices, sources talk about a early January 2015 timeline.

It is expected that Microsoft will announce the Windows Phone 9 at the September 30th event along with Windows 9

Yup, i got it..
With WP9 many new processors all will gain support.
It was rumored that WP8.1 Update 2 will bring support to new processors..
but now it looks like the things have changed.. Nd this has been shifted to WP9.
And about the price tag cant say what MS will do, as they have surprised us with Lumia 830 in an affordable price

I would not be to sure that all WP8.1 Devices get WP8.2. Somewhere i read "all devices that got shipped with 8.1 will get the update" This is a big difference to "all devices which run 8.1".

Nope that will not be case..
Then only 4 Lumia devices will get WP9
Lumia 630,(730/735),830,930,HTC M8 & few other new OEMs
So you are telling that even 1520 is not getting WP9..
It wont happen for sure..

Got me thinking about that too. Shipped with 8.1. At least my soon 830 is upgradeable to 9.

All Windows Phone (Lumia) those who have updated to WP8.1 is able to update to WP9..
But supported features may vary according to hardware

And you guys know this is an unconfirmed rumour you are discussing, right? Right? 'Cos later on its going to turn into 'Microsoft promised all phones will get WP9 but they lied, they suck", etc, etc when they have made no official statement on the next version of WP. Just FYI.
