I am an active web surfer. I love cars and tech. So the most frequent websites I visit are Jalopnik and WPCentral. Both the sites are always active and never fail to get me the latest news and keep me up to date. But there is a major difference between the two. Comment section.
Many many sites now use Disqus as their comment tool (Jalopnik uses Kinja which is equally good but not as widespread as Disqus IMO). The best part is the Like button. On an average, Wpcentral gets hundreds of comments for each article and some comments can be exceptionally good, but lost within a pile of "First!", "Seems Faster", trolls, irrelevant comments just for the sake of commenting etc etc. It would be wonderful if there was a feature to sort the comments based on the likes and time. I think it is time you guys started thinking about this because I feel the comment section seriously lacks maturity.
As a web developer, I know that this change is a HUGE thing and there are a LOT of factors to think about. But I suggest you consider this since it will be very helpful and make the site more interactive.
Fellow readers, please suggest your opinion.
